NIGHT CLUBS

Cork has a huge youth population who enjoy the pubs and nightclubs of the city. Places like Gorbys and Cubins are cool spots while the Maltings emporium on Lynchs st. has 3 clubs under the one roof. The famous Sir Henrys is also a very popular spot and has played host to Irelands most talented D.J’s. Fast Eddies is also an alternative. Reardans on Washington Street is also a great pub with a fantastic nightclub for all those looking for some excitement.

CINEMA

With several cinemas and also Irelands only independent Art House Cinema, the Kino at the Triskel Arts Centre, is the main place for the Cork Film Festival. It also houses the Yumi Yucki Club where one can get a discount film deal when you buy some Sushi and sake. A great selection of international and independent films gives Cork a wide range of films to choose from on a nightly basis.

ART

The Crawford Art Gallery has work by Jack B. Yeats and Louis LeBrocquy. Also local upcoming artists have their work on display in the Triskel Arts Centre. The Vanguard Gallery in the Huguenot Quarter holds twelve shows a year showing established artists work every year.

THEATRE

About 1000 people is the capacity of Cork Opera House, and can display anything from Belgiums Dance theatre to Liam OFlaherty. The Everyman Palace at 17 McCurtain Street, recently had a Macnas carnival show on stage as well as National Ballet. The Cork Arts Theatre and the Granary have enjoyable plays from time to time. The Firkin Crane is a great modern dance venue.
